Ryan Moran George Washington: A Leading Legacy Senior Division: Individual Website
Most people know George Washington was the first President of the United States. He had also set the standard for all of his successors. Washington had many admirable qualities, such as: patriotism, intelligence, the ability to lead, foresight, and selflessness. These qualities made him the perfect person to serve as our first President. Since the President's powers and limitations were vaguely defined in Article II of the Constitution, Washington's actions were important to the legacy he would leave behind for all future Presidents.
The actions and legacies of George Washington relates to the theme of The Individual in History: Actions and Legacies in many ways. The type of person George Washington was and the traits he possessed helped him guide his own actions to develop his own legacy. He considered every action he took to be a precedent for his future successors. He left an outstanding legacy as an admirable individual in history.
